OvidSP have enabled a new function in our accounts which makes it easy for researchers to share their search strategy with others. It produces a link which doesn’t include our Library's secure proxy address, so people at other institutions should be able to easily run the search in their home library’s OvidSP subscription.

This does mean that no-one will be able to run the search when they are off their institution’s network however – it will only run when they are on-network.

It’s simple to do:

Run the search you want to share – it can be either a Saved Search in your Personal Account, or a search you have just created, then tick one of the search results.

Click the email icon at the top of the results list:

A window opens where you enter the Email address, Select Fields to Display, Citation Style, and what to Include.

Under Include, tick Search History.  Click Send Email.  The search strategy will be included in the email along with a link saying Execute searches in Ovid. That’s it!

The user may copy the URL to edit it by adding our ezproxy login string to the front ( or put it in the EZproxy link formatter )
