The after hours chute is designed to open after successfully scanning either the library book barcode (on the front of the book) or the library borrower barcode on your staff card. So if you experience a problem with either a book or your card barcode please bring them to the Fisher information desk when the library is open and staff can check them for you.

If a book needs to be returned urgently, there is an after hours return chute for the Law Library in the adjoining law building. You can also return books overnight to any of the other University of Sydney libraries on any campus.
