Many Library services have been changed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The most recent updates on our services can be found here:

Instructions for how to book an item: https://usyd.libanswers.com/faq/247429

Tips on booking 4 hour loan items:

  • Check availability (it may be in use/booked by another client)
  • There’s a 15 minute buffer between bookings
  • Limit of 10 bookings at a time
  • No back to back bookings of the same item (there must be a 12 hour gap - you can still borrow the item but it can't be booked twice in a 12 hour period)
  • Book the item during the Library's information desk hours (eg. 3-5pm, not 2am)
  • Check that you have selected the same day for the start and end date
  • Check that the date is in the future (maximum booking of 15 days ahead)
  • It's best to book for 4 hours to maximise your time with the item (otherwise the end of the booking is the due date - fines apply for late returns)
  • If you are 15 minutes late to your 4 hour loan booking, the request is automatically canceled
  • To cancel your booking, log into My account (you will need to contact Library staff if you want to edit the booking)
