    The University of Sydney Library supports the continued development of the library and information profession through our library students’ placement program.

    We offer placements for professional and para-professional library students and library-related disciplines in Semester 2.

    Who is eligible?

    Undergraduate and postgraduate library students at university and TAFE.

    Application timeframe

    Applications will be accepted from May 7 – June 4, 2018

    How many placements will be offered for 2018?

    The intake for 2018 is four placements.

    Notification of successful candidates

    Successful applicants will be notified by email by June 25, 2018

    The Program

    Placements are to be offered in specific areas, the student needs to indicate their preferences in the application.

    How can interested students apply:

    Students can send an email with the following information to admin.library@sydney.edu.au by: 5pm, June 4, 2018.

    • Full Name
    • Address
    • Name of institution currently enrolled in
    • Course of study
    • Progression of study
    • Preferred dates during Semester 2
    • Nomination of three ranked areas of interest (see list below)
    • Why are you interested in a student placement at the University of Sydney Library? (Max 100 words)

    • Frontline student support
    • Learning spaces
    • Liaison and academic outreach
    • Research and information skills
    • Rare books and special collections
    • Strategic Projects and managing facilities
