Factiva search supports accented characters, as well as search strings in non-Latin scripts, etc.

Firstly, on the Factiva search interface scroll down to Languages and click to turn off the default English Language filter.

  • On your own computer, to search using a language which uses accented characters, you can add a language in Control Panel > Regions and Languages and then use the keys for those characters. (This will help if you use a certain language most of the time).
  • To search on a public workstation, you can use the ALT + number alt code combinations in the search box to get accented characters. A keyboard with a numeric keyboard is required. Turn the Num Lock on, and use the numeric keypad to enter the accented characters.
