Some of the best ways to locate a known journal article are the following:

  • search for part of the article title and first author in CrossSearch (see the search box in the middle of the library homepage eg "pulse oximetry" and Booker
  • if you have the journal name eg Journal of Advanced Nursing, search for it in the library catalogue and follow the links to the correct year, volume and page number. (Journal articles aren't in our catalogue, only journal names.)
  • search for part of the article title and first author in Google Scholar via the library's ezproxy link in Databases and Electronic Resources http://ezproxy.library.usyd.edu.au/login?url=http://scholar.google.com which links to full text when available
  • search in a relevant database eg the Find Citation section of Medline
